Abstract:

Giving a scientific presentation is an integral element of any University studies. At the same time, not only does the content matter, but the presentation’s structure and the way of delivering it. The seminar will provide you with the basic principles and tools required for presenting your research for academic purposes. You will learn how to prepare a good scientific talk in three steps: planning, structuring, designing, and to professionally present your project in a conference. Furthermore, the seminar will also give you some piece of advice on how to get most out of scientific events and to talk about your field to a broader audience.  

Bio:

Marina Murashko, coordinator for education programs at the Photonics Center, completed her postgraduate studies at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry and specialized in energy transition policies of modern states. Apart from doing her PhD project, she was teaching the philosophy and methodology of science, the methods of qualitative research, and diverse courses on academic research and writing skills.

Marina graduated from the University of Muenster (Germany), majoring in International Relations, and also studied in the University of Potsdam (Germany) and the Rennes Institute of Political Studies (France), where she took courses on strategic communication and public governance. She also holds a BSc degree in Political Science from Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, and obtained a diploma with honors in translating and interpreting (Russian and German). With over 10 years of academic background, Marina has been actively involved in the fields of science communication as well as soft skills for research.
