Laboratory of Molecular Neuroscience

The Molecular Neuroscience Laboratory employs a combination of cutting-edge and traditional biological methods to investigate the molecular mechanisms involved in psychiatric disorders, ageing-associated cognitive decline, and cognitive longevity. The laboratory maintains a unique collection of human brain and blood plasma samples and utilizes modern high-throughput molecular techniques to monitor gene structure (splicing), gene activity (expression), and organismal physiology through the measurement of thousands of biochemical markers, such as polar and unipolar metabolites (lipids).
