The coordinator of the training program preparation, Professor Andrey Osiptsov, Director of the Project Center for Energy Transfer and ESG, and Professor Peter Vorobyov, Deputy Director of the Center for Energy Systems, spoke on behalf of Skoltech. Professor Vorobyov gave an overview of renewable energy technologies and ensuring the sustainability of power grids. Representatives of the European University in St. Petersburg reviewed the history of sustainable development issues and non-financial reporting standards, and speakers from NES gave lectures on ESG risk management in the banking sector, green financial instruments and aspects of society and corporate governance within the framework of the ESG agenda.
Tatyana Mitrova, Scientific Director of the Energy Center at the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo, acted as an invited speaker. Taking into account the difficult epidemiological situation, the training was held online. The speakers of the New League spoke from the studio, where Natalia Tretyak, First Vice President and Secretary of the Council for the Implementation of the Principles of Sustainable Development of Gazprombank, and Evgeny Khilinsky, Head of the Center for the Implementation of the Principles of Sustainable Development of the Bank, moderated the sessions.
More than 150 listeners from the bank joined online, including Deputy Chairmen of the Management Board, heads of departments and departments, as well as heads of companies of the Bank's Group. The seminar was opened by Alexey Matveev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Gazprombank, Chairman of the Council for the Implementation of the Principles of Sustainable Development.
In closing remarks at the end of the training, Elena Borisenko, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board and Deputy Chairman of the Council for the Implementation of the Principles of Sustainable Development of Gazprombank, thanked the speakers of the New League for a rich intensive program: "The presented material is very interesting and will be used in the development of Gazprombank's sustainable development strategy. A deep understanding of the specifics of decarbonization technologies is especially important for Gazprombank, as our main corporate clients are representatives of the industrial sector. As for the retail segment, the current younger generation of schoolchildren and students – our future customers – for the most part already share the values of sustainable development and caring for nature, and we will certainly take this factor into account in our long-term development strategy as a priority when forming new products."
