Sergey Kapitonov, an analyst of the Project Center for Energy Transition and ESG, appeared on the Strait Talk show on Turkish TV (ENG) to comment on Turkey’s first delivery of Black Sea natural gas from the fields off the Zonguldak coast. Discovered in 2020, the gas fields are expected to cover 30% of the country’s yearly consumption. According to Sergey, that will reinforce Turkey’s position as an energy supplier, alternative to Russia, but also as a transit country.
