Nineteen researchers from Skoltech have made it into the annual ranking of the world’s top researchers compiled by Stanford University’s John Ioannidis and co-authors. Created in partnership with Elsevier and drawing on the academic publisher’s Scopus citation database, the league table captures the impact of frequently cited researchers in their respective fields during the year 2023 and throughout their careers. The latest edition came out in September.
The primary indicators used in the database emphasize research impact (citations), as opposed to productivity (the raw number of publications), incorporate information on co-authorship and author positions (single, first, last author), and exclude self-citations. Separate rankings are published for single-year and career-long impact.
The 2024 ranking includes more than 200,000 researchers from all over the world, including Professor Andrey Osiptsov, No. 4,806 out of 313,936 in the field of energy.
