On Jan. 18, Skoltech President Alexander Kuleshov and University of Sharjah Chancellor Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi signed a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions. The deputy ruler of Sharjah, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, witnessed the ceremony.
The memorandum stipulates cooperation in scientific research and applications of artificial intelligence in various health and engineering fields, social services, innovation, scientific creativity, and entrepreneurship, as well as the exchange of faculty members, scientists, and doctoral students.
The flagship project will be a joint lab on artificial intelligence and applications, which envisions joint research projects, researcher and student exchanges, the establishment of joint master’s and PhD programs on AI, joint workshops and international conferences, and support for the development of joint startups in the area of AI.
Another key domain of future cooperation is innovation and entrepreneurship, supervision of joint startups, technology transfer, and commercialization.
