The Skoltech Project Centre for Energy Transition and ESG presents the latest monitoring of the oil and gas markets and decarbonization markets for November 2023.

In November, the markets showed a slight decrease in prices. The most anticipated events of the month were the OPEC+ meeting and the start of COP28 in Dubai. OPEC+ countries agreed to maintain quotas into the next year, and the coalition will also welcome a new member, Brazil.

By the end of the year, green energy sources and energy transition technologies slightly lagged behind their traditional counterparts. For several months, we have observed a decline in the cost and profits of wind energy companies on one hand and an increase in investments in the oil and gas industry on the other.
