The Skoltech Project Centre for Energy Transition and ESG has prepared an overview study on possible gas export forks from Russia at a new stage, having examined in detail the markets of the near and far abroad. Particular attention was paid to the projects of new LNG export plants. If Russia manages to overcome existential sanctions risks (and this, of course, will depend on the possibilities for localization of equipment, on an attractive commercial model, and on the efforts of diplomacy with key partner countries), then a good foundation for further development of the LNG export industry in the country remains. In addition to export markets directly, the paper also considers possible niches for monetization of gas within the country, including through the production of secondary processing products, as well as technological aspects of the development of the LNG industry.
