Professor Clément Fortin, Head of the System Thinking Group at Skoltech Center for Digital Engineering, recently presented a new article at the international engineering design conference Design 2024, which was held in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The article, titled "Supporting the Digital Thread through the Principles of Complementarity," explores innovative ways to enhance information traceability between engineering and manufacturing teams.

The paper discusses the importance of establishing a coherent Digital Thread to ensure the traceability of information between engineering and manufacturing teams, especially in the context of configuration management. It explores how the principles of complementarity can be used to maintain links between data from both engineering and manufacturing definitions, supporting the Digital Thread throughout the product lifecycle.

Co-authors include Research Engineer Yana Brovar and PhD student Saina Sadeghzadeh.
