In April 2024, a new educational project was announced at the Open Innovations Forum as part of the cooperation between two leading technical universities in the country — Skoltech (VEB.RF Group) and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). A joint master’s degree in technological entrepreneurship and innovation will be established on the basis of the TECHPRED MIPT+Skolkovo Department and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of Skoltech — it is expected to start in the 2025-2026 academic year.

This academic year, students of Skoltech and MIPT will be able to join pilot educational initiatives, which have been introduced as part of preparing a joint master’s degree: academic mobility with credit transfer and a professional training program.

The anchor course of the Skoltech initiative is the Innovation Workshop, which begins on September 2. The course has already caught the attention of almost ten MIPT students.

At the TECHPRED MIPT+Skolkovo Department, the anchor course is entitled “Designing, Launching, and Developing Venture Enterprise,” which begins in October. Skoltech students will be able to join the course immediately after completing the Innovation Workshop.

Students of the both universities will be able to choose any courses from both curricula in the future. For more information, see the table:

Skoltech students who are prepared for intensive additional education can excel in the professional training program titled “Technological Entrepreneurship and Innovative Business Development” at MIPT. Students who have successfully completed the program will receive a certificate that will allow them to conduct professional activities in economics.

An open call for the program will open in mid-September and will be limited to a pilot group of seven Skoltech students. Interviews for the program will be held at the end of September. Classes will begin in October.
