Professor Kulish expertise spans through strategic, organizational, and technological topics in Russian and global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, as well as technological innovation in general. Dmitry has managed and led businesses and teams with emphasis on pharmaceutical & IT innovation, venture development, investment management, product development, and manufacturing. He served at the top executive positions at R-Pharm, Nanolek, Bioprocess/Pharmapark, Fresenius Kabi, as well as numerous biotech and medtech start-ups. At Intel Capital Dmitry made venture investments in IT, internet, and digital medicine companies. After completing his corporate career in 2014, Professor Kulish established a consultancy «DrugDevelopment.Ru» that advises pharmaceutical and investment companies on a broad range of strategic and operational issues related to Russian and global healthcare industry. Furthermore, Dmitry is an active angel investor with minority stakes in several startups related to biomedicine, IT and engineering.

At Skoltech Professor Kulish serves as Director of Innovation Workshop, the anchor course of Entrepreneurship & Innovation curriculum putting the entire incoming Skoltech class into the month-long vortex of innovation challenge, culture, and community building. Dmitry also teaches the set of courses called «Startup Funnel», that follows up Innovation Workshop with subject-specific projects. This set includes «Biomedical E&I», «Nanomaterial E&I», «Blockchain E&I», and «Artificial Intelligence E&I», and keeps growing. Two important extensions of The Funnel are «Startup Workshop» that is focused on writing a business plan based on tangible prototyping and feedback, and «Leadership for Innovators», the soft-skill course providing an array of procatical exercises in EQ, Influence, Negotiation, Leadership, and Teamwork skills. 

In the years 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023 Dmitry was awarded the title of «Best Professor» based on free anonymous student voting.

Most currently Professor Kulish became the leader of new inter-university program in Technological Entrepreneurship established by partnership of Skoltech and MIPT. In this capacity Dmitry developes and leads new academic programs in technological innovation and entrepreneurship. Furthermore, Dmitry actively teaches and manages corporate commercial trainings and courses.
