About us

Modern functional and structural materials achieve the highest efficiency of using their properties in a variety of complex applications under the condition of coordinated and complex optimisation of their structure at all hierarchically organised dimensional levels. Structure optimisation is achieved through systematic development, use of a wide range of physical and chemical methods of formation, transformation of structure, development of unique non-destructive and destructive methods of structural analysis, and testing of materials to obtain Big Data, construction of digital twins of materials, including in the process of their operando functioning.

Compact testing machine "Dyben 1.0"

Dyben 1.0" is a versatile compact testing machine for in situ microscopy experiments. The device helps detect the mechanical properties of materials (Which ones?) in situ. The device, measuring 10 x 10 centimeters and equivalent in thickness to a smartphone. The project was implemented jointly with the Agency for Intellectual Measures (AIM) with the support of Skoltech's STRIP programme. Current status: To date, the device has been developed and is undergoing a series of tests.

Vacuum carrier "Penal"

The "Penal" vacuum carrier is a device for transporting and short-term storage of air-sensitive materials. The development will be useful for research laboratories and institutes developing materials for energy storage, as well as for researchers of lithium-ion batteries, metal scientists who need to protect metals from oxide layers, and chemists. The project was implemented as part of the support of Skoltech's STRIP program. Current status: To date, the device has been developed and is undergoing a series of tests.

Research of modes and cellular mechanisms of gas dynamic sterilization of materials for medical instruments and products using electron microscopy

Establishment of intervals of values of parameters of sterilizing gas dynamic treatment (temperature, pressure, exposure time, decompression rates, humidity) in the environment of food carbon dioxide samples of titanium alloy VT6 polished and titanium alloy VT6 after sandblasting surface containing on the surface microorganisms of cultures E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus and Bacillus stearothermophilus in concentrations of CFU. Project status: completed or ended.
